I get tired of all those 'disgustingly healthy' hikers leaving me in the dust. And I also experience those compromises where I end up doing what I'm told. And I also get "the look". Sometimes I'm ready to become a full-timer just to get away. The Furry Gnomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02485265576983125216noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612782136487369362.post-12933114064765061352016-12-09T13:04:06.424-06:002016-12-09T13:04:06.424-06:00Hi, Merikay! For us, our relationships with our doctors and dentists have been cherished, and that's why we find ourselves passing back through the DFW area so often to be able to see them when it's time for prescriptions refills. We are slowly rebuilding these relationships in our new location. So far, we've found a couple of real keepers and one that just doesn't measure up. When needed on the road, we won't hesitate to do like you guys and visit a doc-in-the-box.Mike Millshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03053039844141113175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612782136487369362.post-78214137664299464542016-12-09T10:19:01.285-06:002016-12-09T10:19:01.285-06:00because we had several job changes, and insurance ...because we had several job changes, and insurance changes over the years, we never did have a doctor who really seemed to know us. The two exceptions have been two Oncologists I have seen in reference to the breast cancer I had ten years ago. The others have felt like if they didn't read my chart, they wouldn't know me at all. On the road we have relied on drop in Urgent Care Clinics, or specialists like the podiatrist I saw in El Paso for my foot, or the Dermatologist I saw in Florida for a small growth on my neck. (Turn out to be benign). We have a Doc we have both seen at the SAN Diego Scripps Clinic so we can get prescriptions for daily melds. But as I said we don't hesitate to see others. we have the AARP sponsored suplimental plan that allows us to see any doc anywhere.
